Wish we had more clear thinkers like you all here in the states. The propaganda machine just rolls and rolls. And everyone looking for a handout is more than happy to buck logic and reason and jump on. I tell my parents they have lived an unprecedented existence, having enjoyed a full and fulfilling life here in the states. The future of our country has been derailed, and I fear that before all is said and done, I may have to leave this place for whatever last bastion of logic and reason remains when the dust and rubble left by the wheels of Socialism finally clears. Let's just hope there is one...

After much thought I have come to the conclusion that central government has to end.
If we wish to control the laws and regulations we live by Government must be approachable and accountable which at present it is not, the wishes of those in Ontario(Toronto socialists) and Quebec(Montreal socialists) where the votes are, control the ideology we live by a thousand miles away(where the resources are) in totally different circumstances and with totally different political cultures and economies.
The size and scope of the Central government and the unconstitutional power it wields are a detriment to the people, their main duties have been forsaken, our Armed forces cannot protect us, our National police force has lost the confidence of the people, our courts are a joke, our justice system works for the criminal not the victim, our education system continues to graduate near illiterate kids with no working knowledge of their country.
It has stolen 54 billion dollars it had no right to from the EI fund and not one person was held to account!, They did this so they could continue to over spend, now we borrow 70 billion to waste on a stimulus package that will accomplish nothing and they know this!, It's just more socialism our kids will pay for.
Ottawa has outlived it's usefulness, when a government body is a hindrance to the people it has to be forced to go because it will never go back to it's original design by choice.
This problem goes all the way back to another Liberal hero, Pearson, who made the State more important than the people, a country is of the people, The State is just a bunch of elitist lawmakers, parasites and social engineers living off our dime and dreaming up new ways to collect more dimes.
Time to either go our own way Provincially or become a Republic with the power firmly in the hands of the citizens of the regions by constitution.
Canada is broken.

It is apparent this government is nothing more than a puppet to the American liberal kooks. Folks are so brainwashed by the msm that i feel it's too late to educate people of the truth. Hang on to your wallets.

PLEASE, YOU KNOW THEY WILL NOT CHANGE THEIR TINY MINDS.
THIS IS ALL ABOUT ANOTHER TAX GRAB, PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE AT ALL.

Harper, Prentice, Tory and a host of other conservatives never get it: no matter how blatant and obsequious their vote-quest becomes, they will never, never capture the votes of the Rosedale Socialists, Westmount Liberals and the herds of urban ignoramouses who thoughtlessly swallow the Gore/Suzuki it's-never-getting-Kool-aid.

And, after just recently saddling at least three generations (and a generation yet to come) with a crippling public-debt load, and an election on the immediate horizon, they go out of their way to incurr an electoral death-sentence by alienating core supporters (farmers, loggers, small businesses and contractors) by trundling out this insane Carbon-cap parlour game played with our tax-dollars...billions of them.

We are slow learners out here in Rural Canada, but we're starting to get the picture. Every time a government trundles out a new enviro/eco policy in black and white, just like a skunk, there's bound to be something really unpleasant happen when contact gets up-close and personal. It's time to get rid of the stinkers.

Mr. Tom Harris , thank you for an excellent and detailed article. I am totally of your opinion. Hopefully this write-up will entice a lot of the public to raise hell with their MP and MLA.
Please keep up your good work.

Waiting for the Other Shoe to drop on the Climate File

Posted by Tom Harris on Jun 18, 2009 at 07:25 AM

Canadians about to pay the price for Conservative's failure of nerve to alter the language of the climate debate

In part one of this piece, I explained how the Harper Conservatives rode to power on a platform that included open, common sense transparency in the climate debate; how they took full advantage of an electorate exhausted by past Prime Minister Jean Chretien’s opportunistic, unscientific climate change bombast to tell Canadians that the Conservatives would promote an honest re-evaluation of the file from top to bottom.
