More Conservative Bashing
Well, here we go again. While we have Mr. Dithers and his band of big spenders visiting the West attempting to persuade those of us east of Ontario that the Liberals are not corrupt, do not ignore Western concerns and have money to spread around other than in Quebec, The Globe & Mail carries as story headlined “Tories Launch Folksy TV Ads.”
I had always looked to the Globe and Mail as being less biased than the rest of the pack. I guess I was wrong. Why did we not see a headline that reads; ‘Martin Visits West to Clean Up Corruption Image?” Or “Martin out Buying Western Votes?” I guess the Globe just had to jump on the anti-Conservative bandwagon. Remember the Harper image stories at the start of summer. I figured the mainstream media got the message then they were only harming their own credibility with such childish attacks veiled as journalism.
This leads me to conclude that the mainstreamers are unaware of the huge shift of readership to the Internet with more than 14 million bloggers out there expressing their disaffection with the media kingpins of the past. As advertisers wake up to the fact they are not getting a bang for their bucks, it will not hurt me in the least to see the last of them disappear. It’s just a matter of how much harm they will do until then.
