Druid Brethren and Pagans
Re: September Pagan Pride Day for Florida
Please disregard my military status as I am not writing to you in an
official capacity, I am simply using the tool provided by my employer to
send email out.
I wish to apologise for my rather passionate Druid Brethren and I wish to
assure you they type out of frustration. I do not understand why they get
worked up so. You have your own idea’s and are entitled to them for petes
sake.
I myself am a practising Pagan here in Canada and I was very happy to see
funding go to the Pagan organizations there in the States, well why
shouldn’t they? You say in your article that “my tolerance level does
include the belief that “pagans are people too”. Where my tolerance level
starts to wane is when pagans look for funding from the public purse.”
May I ask you if your tolerance for Christian Faiths also wanes when it
looks for funding from the public purse?
Why is there a difference, if in fact there is one?
Most Pagan Organizations here where I live are very interesting creatures.
They fundraise for charities, have picnics and generally create a very
family orientated atmosphere, which the Christian Faiths also do. Other
then the actual practise of the beliefs I do not see much difference between
they average Christian and the average Pagan.
These are my questions. You may respond or not, do what you will but I
found that you are an intelligent and successful woman who have found a
place from which she can shape the opinions and minds of thousands of
people. A position that is not commonly held by women these days and I am
happy to see that you are where you are and could inspire other women to be
strong, intelligent and be not afraid to show it and use it.
Thank you very much for your time.
Sincerely Linda McGill
