Toronto gun problems

The Attorney General’s announcement today outlining his four-point plan to eliminate gun violence in Ontario doesn’t go nearly far enough. Why doesn’t he employ a strategy he’s already developed?

He should ban Smith & Wesson, Glock, generic weapons and anything similar that could be construed as one. To save time, allow anyone to confirm that an object in hand is indeed a weapon and declare the offender guilty on the spot. Round up people who look as though they might have weapons and declare them guilty too. Allow authorities to enter dwellings without a warrant to seize one of the prohibited items or anything similar, using whatever force is deemed necessary. On the basis of reports that someone has exhibited threatening behaviour while holding a weapon, confiscate it and let them face up to six months in prison and a $10,000 fine with no possibility for appeal.. To further protect the public, I suggest that anyone who might be a threat under these new criteria should have to encase the object in a 50-pound box, label it prominently as a Dangerous Weapon and keep it strapped to their body while out in public.
I’m sure everyone will feel safer knowing that guns, knives, machetes and swords are banned and restricted but how will they feel when pens are added to the list?

Keep up the good work! I’ll be checking out your publication regularly, now that I am aware of it.
