An appalled witch
I make it a personal priority to confront any sort of press that is derogatory to my beliefs. When I read your article regarding Wal-Mart carrying wiccan books, I was appalled.
It is of no consequence to you that Wicca is one of the fastest growing religions in the United States. I’m not sure if it is in Canada, but I’m very sure that any Canadian Wiccan were to read this article, they would be offended. Specifically I am talking about your comment at the end of the article which states, “Oh, for the days when the closest thing to witches that could be found down at the local department store was the witch’s costume you bought for Halloween.” This is utterly rediculous. Witches have been around far longer than you care to believe. And we’re not some fairy tale creature out to poison your children and worship Satan. We’re all around you, you just don’t know it because most of us are afraid to be “out of the broom closet” because of ignorance like yours.
I found your article ignorant. Not to mention that it was just, in general, a crappy article.
Many Disregards,
Stephanie Jones
