Witch/wicca/pagan religion
As a police officer for over thirty years, and a practicing Witch/Pagan for over thirty eight, I found your article somewhat troublesome, although it did have a certain amusement value.
This is the same Wal-Mart, I assume, that carries entire walls of Christian Bibles, not to mention all of the “Left Behind” books, you seem to have no problem with that? Now I am aware that I live in the US, a predominately Christian nation. I have no problem with that, rather enjoying the fact that I can practice my religion without to much fear of reprisal. I will take the Bible belt over any middle eastern country you can name, when it comes to religious freedom. I could care less if the court house displays the Ten Commandments, or a Cross, Christmas tree (we call them Yule trees, ever notice how few pines grow in Jordan), or even baby Jesus and the troops. After all this is a Judeo-Christian country, and I live on their turf.
However, I can point out some things you won’t see. No Witch/Pagan/Wiccan will come to your door passing out comic books telling you how cool Kernunnos (the God of the animals, and hunt, the winter God, the horned dude the Catholics made into the devil) is None of ours will be on TV ranting about needing money to buy a satellite for the Gawwddddddddesss! No old people will eat dog food, so they can send money to said ranting TV personality, in the name of Wicca.
One thing about our religion, if you want to practice you have to seek it out, it will not be shoved down you, or your child’s throat. Maybe that’s the reason it’s becoming so popular!
More power Wal-Mart keep that religious freedom alive.
Blessings
