Canada’s reaction to war casualties

Dear Editor:
Re: Over 1/3 of Canadians see Bush as more of a threat to Global Security than bin Laden

You state:
“It is sad to say but if we lose a few young men and women in the Kandahar area, perhaps, and just perhaps, more Canadians will start to take the terrorist threat more seriously and Osama won’t appear to be such a good guy in the bin Laden/Bush comparison.”
As tragic as any such loss of life is, I hope and pray you are correct. However, my fear is that the Canadian reaction to a few war casualties will instead be to start the leftist chant of “Bring them home. We shouldn’t be there.” The possibility that Canadians would run in such a situation scares and saddens me more than I can express.
