Maurice Strong and Paul Martin

Dear Editor:
Re: Dictators, Prime Minister Paul Martin style

Maurice Strong has long been Paul Martin’s sugar daddy. Now Washington (the Congress) is calling for an investigation of the man, who, like Martin himself, is at the periphery of scandal after scandal after scandal. Did you think Maurice Strong wasn’t going to use the politicians he bought and paid for? At the heels of that call for investigating the man who wept when he was nominated, Martin turns into an attack dog.
In the normal course of events, no one in their right mind could ever accuse Martin or the Liberals of paying any attention to their own election promises whatsoever. And royal commisions always deflect the blame when their “do anything to win” approach gets nasty or out of bounds.
But this is different. Don’t be surprised to see boycott calls if the US Congress persists invertigating the Liberal godfather. It appears that we’re all going to go down for Martin’s sugar daddy. Norm Coleman better watch out. He might as well be investigating the Mafia.
