Kimveer Gill-perhaps he was evil

Dear Editor,
Re: Kimveer Gill — perhaps he was just evil

I read your article on Kimveer Gill which stated that the parents could not be blamed for the actions of a 25 year old adult. Excuse me, am I missing something here? How does a 25 year old unemployed adult afford an expensive gun collection, ammunition, membership in a shooting club, video game collections, a car, and oh yes, I almost forgot — a computer, equipped with internet connection, etc, etc if not “enabled” by someone? Most people work for a living and even if they had fantasies of going out and shooting for the fun of it, they couldn’t afford to do so, nor for that matter, have the time to do it. It seems to me that allowing a 25 year old dead beat son to stay at home, eat at home, do whatever he wanted, play for hours on his computer, stay out when he wanted, go shooting at the gallery because it was his hobby, not work would somewhat assist in keeping his sick fantasies going, please correct me if I’m wrong. I know “Judge not, lest ye be judged” and I agree with that, however, in this case come on, this kid was given everything, without seemingly being accountable to anyone. To me, there is something wrong with this picture. Another thing that bothers me is that they knew about his gun collection but thought it was ok to have that and to go shooting at the gallery. Maybe its a cultural thing, but I don’t get that.
