Dear Editor,
Not trying to compare the pope with Jesus; under this premise; Jesus was ill advised to enter Jerusalem… even if for Him the situation appeared to be more on the other side of the equation as the people appeared to be with Him but not the rulers of the time…
However, the pope is not in Istanbul for the well being of his body, neither because he thinks that nobody can follow his steps.
Be not afraid, John Paul II said in Poland, and be not afraid is the message of Benedict XVI in Turkey. It is not about the safety of the body but about the salvation of so many souls thirsty for the word of the truth. The pope is not alone and he is in good hands…
Let’s pray for the world and particularly for the Middle East that it finally is allowed to see the truth with reason…
