Dear Editor,
Just read your 10,000 day story. Very good. I have 2 Marine sons who joined at age 18, one in 2004, one in 2006. I hope the US military has some backbone in this Long War as the Marines now call it. Remember, they were swept up in it in 1983 in Beruit or thereabouts, and at other times in the last 25 years. The leaders and citizens need to read up on how we won WWII like in the Battle of Okinawa, the “Typhoon of Steel” or in Sherman’s March to the Sea in the Civil War and see how wars are won. If we don’t have the stomach to fight as a country we should not put our Marines there. War is not nice, but it is necessary, and it is better if we fight them to win like the Civil War and WWII. Keep all our Marines in your prayers. Right now they are fodder in a PC “war”.
