Common sense
Dear Editor,
I have to think that the “common sense” public must be getting completely fed up with people that should know better forever “defending” the foolish decisions they make. Case in point! Tourism Victoria is “defending” new advertising slogans that could be described as “racy” at best and “vulgar” at worst. They recently ran a series of such ads in a Seattle magazine. The ads read “your lust for fine food can now be satisfied” and “your search for the perfect orgasm is over.” Similar ads designed to capture a larger share of the gay tourism market have also been run. Tourism Victoria
may well live to regret the people they attract to the capitol.
Then you have Telus “defending” their decision to make pornographic images and videos available to their cell phone customers with perverse logic about as credible as that of the decision makers at Tourism Victoria. The real motive in both cases is obviously the almighty dollar, and that at the expense of morality and decency A recent online poll I viewed showed 77% of respondents to be against the Telus ads. Seems to me Telus is out of touch with public opinion. I agree with Archbishop Roussin when he says the company has “crossed the line.”
I am convinced we still do have a “moral majority” out there. Let them speak up.
