Reports that striking CPR workers are feeling the slings and arrows of outraged westerners is nothing new. The CPR, like Toronto’s Bay Street, has always been detested by the hardy tillers of the prairie soil. There’s a story, that may be apocryphal, that during the great depression, known as the “Dirty 30’s” the prairie children’s bedtime prayer was: “God bless mommy,God bless daddy and Goddamn the CPR.
