Globe bashes Tory Car race

Dear Editor:

Letter to Editor: Globe and Mail:

How innovative that the Conservatives should choose to spend their members’ money on advertising targeted at the ordinary Canadians who SHOULD be supporting them.
Most Canadian NASCAR fans are people who work hard at hard jobs, rather than satisfying careers. Their weekend social activities are the centre of their lives. They enjoy a cold beer. They support our troops. They are probably helping or caring for a family member in crisis…on their own dime. They don’t go to Massey Hall and they can only afford to watch the Leafs on T.V.
The little look down the nose comment from Professor David Docherty: “presumably, when I sit down on my couch with my chewing tobacco and some Mickey’s Big Mouths to watch NASCAR”, is as bigoted as it gets…but its still OK in Correctoidland to “dis” the visible majority. The good professor must have swallowed some of the juice from his chaw of Redman to regurgitate that foolish bon mot. Shame on Gloria Galloway for allowing a racial stereotype.
Maybe those everyday Canadians who don’t like to see any racial or social stereotyping will learn from this story that the liberal elitists don’t have much use for them or their values.
Maybe the Conservatives do.
