Harper’s faux pas
Dear Ediotr:
Stephen Harper should stay home where his missteps at least won’ t cause us trouble with the neighbours.
It’s easy to understand how Harper would be upset at being accused of taking Tony Blair’s place as George Bush’s lapdog . However, to over react by telling the “leaders” of a third-world country that Canada , unlike the U.S., is not into imperialism, is hardly the way to make friends and influence people in Washington DC. Besides, Latin American leaders are probably well aware that Canada was the staunchest supporter of Imperialism for most of its history.
