Bring on the Clowns
Re “Iranians decry host’s rudeness.” (Sept. 26):
The Iranian leader’s image may well have been boosted at home by his host’s rudeness, but rudeness is the last thing that Iranians have to worry about. The rest of the world saw for themselves that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a charlatan. Those who were opposed to allowing the Iranian president to air his views must now acknowledge that it’s a plus to give dictators the freedom of speech which they deny their own people. The President of Iran, by claiming there are no homosexuals among his country’s 70 million people, was ‘Hoist by his own petard.” Let’s give more of these clowns the chance to destroy their credibility in front of the whole world.
