Dear Editor:

I’m glad to hear from ex- soldiers point of view about serving in Afghanistan. I think that it is very sad and disgraceful that people like Jack Layton do not support our troops or the mission in Afghanistan. Our Canadian troops are there because they want to be there and want to make a difference in the lives of others.

An old Canadian Hong Kong Vet said to me once “There is one thing that is worse than war, and that is slavery”

If we remove our troops and the Taliban get to take back Afghanistan, there will be much slavery and no freedom. I guess Layton doesn’t believe in freedom and human rights for others

One last thing……..has Jack Layton ever served in the military or been to Afghanistan?
