Obama and Pro life Protestors

Dear Editor
Re: CFP: Pro-Life Activists Shut Down Senator Obama Rally

I attended the Barack Obama rally on Mon. Jan. 7, 2008 at the Rochester Opera House in Rochester, NH. In no way could the efforts of the “pro-life” protestors be described as shutting down the rally.

These people merely caused a brief few minutes’ inconvenience. What they did do was to allow Barack Obama to demonstrate incredible restraint and the ability to calm his supporters (who could easily have drowned out the protest in seconds).

Obama extended an invitation to talk with these people after the rally. The protestors left of their own accord and people who came to hear what the candidate had to say were treated to Obama’s statements about listening to ideas we might not necessarily agree with. Rather than turning people off of this candidate, I daresay there were quite a few “undecided’s” who are now going to vote for Barack Obama’, based on his demonstration of grace and charity under pressure.
