Tyrants Vs. the Free Press
Dear Editor:
Oakland Ross (writing in the Toronto star) says that if Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad were to visit Israel’s Holocaust Museum he would suddenly see how stupid his view of the Holocaust is. Ross is being naive. Ahmadinejad, like all dictators and tyrants, sees what he wants to see and hears what he wants to hear. Ahmadinejad, and his ilk, believe they are somehow destined to rule their hapless countries, and other countries if they can get away with it, with an iron fist. A free media, which, happily, in the computer age cannot be controlled, are Ahmadinejad’s, and every other despot’s, recurring nightmare.
