Dear Editor:
Are you bothered by living inside the government’s simulator? If you stay you’ll be pleasured to death. Try to leave and you’ll find out how deep the corruption goes. The choice is yours. Had product labeling happen before immigration policies; unwanted and dangerous imports would not have been introduced to Canadians.
Please pay special attention to the following paragraph taken from “Three Amigos Summit, Foreign Policy in Focus”, by Manuel PĂ©rez Rocha and Sarah Anderson, April 15, 2008. On the web at; “http://fpif.org/fpiftxt/5152″ Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP).
“First, at a time when the Democratic presidential candidates have kicked up a long overdue debate over NAFTA, the SPP would actually expand this flawed policy. Even though the lifting of trade and investment barriers under the trade pact failed to create the promised good, stable jobs, the SPP is further chipping away at remaining economic regulations. For example, at the last SPP summit, the three leaders announced a weakening of NAFTA’s “rules of origin” to allow products with a lower level of national content to receive preferential tariff treatment. This will undermine domestic industries by making trade in products from third countries like China even more profitable.”
Consider the Canadian product labeling problem and ask yourself; who truly has the most to gain from these proposed “rules of origin”?
Canada’s new label policy follows global guidelines.
Domestic farming no longer has a personal etiquette but has become the last frontier. Illegal labeling will make domestic product sales subject to enforcement and unavailable. Controlling markets by having to prove Canadian content will drive our home grown goods out of our reach and into foreign markets. Harper related that there would be no “protection” and farmers need international “trade.” The government has now laid down the law on large scale contract farming. Get onboard or wither. Under the old label “Product of Canada”; the combined populations of three billion plus, China and India, funnel goods through Canada to favorable global markets. Is this new “Made in Canada” law going to economically benefit us in world markets? Perhaps; as long as refined water is considered “Made in Canada”.
With the world economy reportedly in a downturn and third world countries rioting our border has been dissolved by natural attrition. We have again been left open and vulnerable to corruption.
As the public are over stimulated with none essentials’ their attention continues to be drawn away from basic survival skills. When this happened government leaders sold promises of foreign policy to none voters allowing foreign industries to invade. It’s payback time and thanklessly your wealth skipped across the Ocean.
You have been stricken with, disease, poverty, economic and family breakdowns and no hope for your future and yet your government expects you to be generous and happy.
In the interest of public safety the government will label you as a “Product of Canada”.
Yours Truly,
John O’Neill
