Killing the Canadian in the Canadian
Dear Edtor,
Re: Killing the Canadian in the Canadian
Dan Murray’s article, “Killing the Canadian in the Canadian” is right on the mark. Official Multiculturalism and massive immigration as dictated by the immigration industry, serves to eventually eliminate all the benefits and freedoms the new immigrant thinks he is coming here to enjoy.
The teaching of Canadian history is a disgrace. Even the historian Jack Granatstein, who I have met and admire, fails to recognize that Canadian history must be taught on the basis of the settlement of all English-speaking North America.
The border is a political construct and has little to do with how most of Canada was settled and the British principles of justice and English Common Law that eventually became imbedded in what was known as British North America; out of which both Canada and the USA were built.
Absolutely no freedoms originated from the Quebecoise society, previously known as New France.(now Quebec). It was an absolute monarchy (a dictatorship) prior to the Conquest by the British, British-American colonialists and native allied Indians in 1759-60.
It is no wonder our new immigrants and even our new young Canadian-born children do not comprehend the massive contribution to our freedoms and civil rights that stemmed originally from the 1000 years of struggle in those tiny British Islands across the North Atlantic.
When minorities push to subject our society to their rules, they have no idea of the damage they are doing to their own new place of residence.
Unfortunately, our politicos and the educational establishment don’t seem to understand either.
Again, congratulations to Dan Murray on a super article.
