Attack on Christianity
In the arms of the angels

How typical of the heroic Pope John Paul II that he would hold on long enough to see us through Holy Week; that he would use such strong words in his defense of a dying Terri Schiavo.
How like this "Pope of the People" that even in failing strength he kept coming to the window of his Vatican apartment to bless the pilgrims.
The life of Pope John Paul II has been a courageous one that made a difference for so many.
"A Latin American moment" may bring in next pontiff
by Judi McLeod, Editor,Thursday, April 7, 2005
Where is the prince of darkness lurking as the body of Pope John Paul II lies in state?
Plotting in the background, fomenting for the revolution called liberation theology and looking for cardinal candidates most apt to take up Satans never ending work.
Karol Wojtyla and a rosary of the heart
by Judi McLeod, Editor,September 2, 2002
For one splendid week this summer, the City of Toronto was a better place.
A sort of peace of heart descended upon T.O. during Youth Day activities.
Even people not close to the events commented on the perceptible feelings of goodwill, and the truly remarkable behaviour of tens of thousands of youth here to meet with John Paul II.
The rosary
by Judi McLeod, Editor,March 17, 2003
A certain politician, one with whom I share an on-again-off again, reporter-politician relationship, promised me a pair of special rosary beads during Pope John Paul II's visit to Toronto last summer. As a dignitary, the politician was part of the official departure team waiting to see the Holy Father off at Pearson International Airport. As it happened, the politician picked up his cell phone when I called him during the pontiff's departure. A big fan of John Paul II, I mentioned wishing I were there. The politician, who had been one of the organizers of Youth Day, offered me rosary beads blessed by the Pope himself. After the original wreaths of rapture, the promised rosary beads began to cause me problems.

One of the towering figures of the 20th Century has passed into eternity.
Pope John Paul II strode across the world stage for 26 years, the third-longest reign of any Pope in history. As an ideological soul mate of President Ronald Reagan, John Paul is credited with helping to bring down the Iron Curtain in Eastern Europe. Like Reagan, he survived an assassination attempt--allegedly backed by the Communists--in 1981.

With the Popes passing last week, theres been enormous media coverage of his papacy and its impact. Pope John Paul II was widely admired as a principled leader, a compassionate teacher and a genuine moral force. Sadly, the reality is that his message has generally been ignored.
