by The Cooks.

In the heart of the city, uptown Toronto has opened up a 'gem' with a unique spin on what they refer to as "A Modern Seafood Experience." The Cooks were treated to an unbelievable meal--one sure to be repeated soon.

We were met by a vibrant and attentive staff, knowledgeable of their product which made our evening all the more enjoyable. We had the pleasure of being served by Marianna, a true asset to the operation.

For "Foodies" like us, we loved the tapas style appetizers--we got to try so much, in taste size / good for sharing portions. The Chef at C-Food Chris Murie is exceptional with his presentation and individuality in his dishes. It was a wonderful display of truly unique selections with a sense of adventure, creating a pleasurable and palatable experience

We sampled Jumbo shrimp cocktail--a shrimp lovers delight served with a well spiced horseradish cocktail sauce; monkfish potsticker with a cilantro dressing; seared tuna with a wasabi reduction (a personal favourite); C-Food bisque and a vegetable chilled soup with a dollop of sorbet in a bowl or a sample size shot glass.

As we moved on to the main course (yes we were still eating) the selection continued. Fresh fish, whole, filleted, grilled, steamed or battered--you choose the cooking method and you choose the side--great for those watching their carbs. Choose from fresh cut fries, (very nice--we were not watching ours!), seared greens, sweet rice, salad or slaw.

The decor has a Nautical theme with open air seating inside for 32, and 16 on the patio out front. Each table is also adorned with the most interesting centerpiece, an attractive vase containing a beautiful multi-coloured Siamesefighting fish. Yours to adopt with proceeds going to The North York General Hospital Foundation in support of children.

Needless to say, we left with our appetites satisfied, a place to re-visit, and a new pet. We took home 'OLI'--named after the owner of course, Good Luck and see you soon.

A short walk north from the Eglinton subway station and ample parking is available in the neighbourhood.

Dinner for two with wine will run about $120.00
