The Liberals are whores

The Liberal Party of Canada is comprised of whores. at least that’s the impression one gets when looking at the politicians that operate under the Liberal brand name. For evidence look no further than their latest pathetic effort at hanging on to power by crawling into the sack with the likes of Jack Layton’s NDP.

The issue that the Liberals are prepared to bend over for is corporate tax cuts. Never mind that currently capital investment is fleeing Canada at an alarming rate, as the confiscatory nature of the Canadian tax system is driving business elsewhere. When coupled with the combination of an ever-higher Canadian dollar and serious competition from emerging countries like China, the manufacturing sector in Canada is on a one-way ride to extinction as it is. adding to this a lack of corporate tax relief is just driving more nails into industry’s coffin.

apparently the Libs are justifying their unholy alliance with the socialists by rationalizing that corporate tax cuts weren’t really very high on their agenda in the first place. "Mr. Layton is talking about wanting to find concessions on corporate taxes." Said Sarmite Bulte, Liberal member of parliament for the Parkdale-High Park riding and chair of the Ontario Caucus. "They were not a priority in my riding, so if that’s where we have to find common ground, let’s do it and let’s get this budget passed."

Right. anything to stay in power. anything to avoid facing the people. In the true fashion of typical lawyers, the Liberals are playing for time because they know that time heals all wounds, especially those in the minds of voters. They believe that if they can forestall seeking a mandate long enough, the dummies that have kept them in power for the past twelve years will forget why they were angry in the first place and give them yet another mandate.

It’s an effective strategy in Canada, as the attention span of the average Canadian voter is about as long Bruce Willis’s hair. The Libs are right in their assumption that if they can stall this thing long enough, it won’t really matter what Mr. Justice Gomery’s report will say because the voters will have moved on to other shiny baubles that will take up all their attention.

In the same way the cops in St. Catharines made a "deal with the devil" when they got Karla Homolka to testify against her husband, the Libs are dealing with the socialist devils whose irrelevance on Canada’s political scene has become legendary. a rule of thumb among sentient Canadians is that anything the NDP is in favour of should be vigorously opposed, as it is wrong; wrong for the country, wrong for the people. Unlike the St. Catharines cops, the Libs are totally unrepentant in making their deal with the devil in order to stay in power.

Maria Minna, Liberal MP for Toronto’s Beaches-East York riding, put it most succinctly. "I have no problem negotiating and working with the NDP. My bottom line is Canadians want us to govern and I want to see that budget get through…. corporate taxes we can deal with another time." She is admitting that she will do anything with anyone, so long as she can hold on to her seat and at the same time she is also telling us that they’ll screw Jumpin’ Jack and his NDP at the drop of a hat by promising to deal with corporate taxes "another time".

The lack of principled behaviour among our politicians has been a subject for discussion among Canadians for years. The fact that this behaviour gets more pathetic with each passing day does not bide well for our future. There doesn’t appear to be any outrage egregious enough to get the good people of Ontario, and particularly those of Toronto, to stop talking about it and go on the warpath in protecting their interests.

It’s not a healthcare system so badly in decay that people are now literally dying as a result. It’s not a tax burden so high that Canadians have to work a full six months of any year in order to earn one penny they can call their own. It’s not having minority agendas shoved down the throat of everyone in the country, whether they like it or not. It’s not even theft and corruption so blatant that it would make the likes of Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe blush.
