Security, Immigration
Republican Presidential Contenders

George Bush is NOT running for a third term, although to read some of the comments over at KOS, you'd think he was:
Senator John McCain: I almost put his name with the Democrats above. Looking at this man's record of subverting the conservative cause, it's no wonder that some people think his full name is McCain-Feingold.
Rudy Giuliani: The "America's Mayor" mantle is getting real old. A gun-grabber and pro-abortionist. With the Republican base up in arms with Bush and his stand on immigration, nothing more than a true conservative will do. It ain't Rudy.
Senator George Allen: Good political pedigree. Has the right/center wing of the Republican Party talking. Outside of Virginia and the Beltway, little name recognition but that will certainly change.
Representative Tom Tancredo: He's making a name for himself with conservative voters with his "security-first" stance on immigration, but if he waivers or votes on a compromise in the House, he'll be nothing more than a face in the crowd.
Representative Mike Pence: The 2005 Human Events Man of the Year, but his immigration plan has some conservatives wondering if it's nothing more than a dressed-up amnesty plan.
Governor Jeb Bush: Name recognition but he says he doesn't want the job. Jeb's done a good job handling a series of hurricanes but is the name "Bush" the kiss of death in national politics?
John H. Cox: The dark horse, but his name keeps on coming across my desk. With a background as a C.P.A., lawyer, expert on the U.S. tax code (a feat in and of itself), real estate management, active in Illinois and national politics and a staunch conservative who knows?
