Al Qaeda threats, big surprises, Massive Terror Attack

Same signs warning 9/11 was imminent apparent again

"Ninety days at the most" as of July 30, 2007 is the timeline predicted by counterterrorism expert Juval Aviv for an "imminent al Qaeda attack on five to seven American cities simultaneously."

"I predict, based primarily on information that is floating in Europe and the Middle East, that an event is imminent and around the corner here in the United States. It could happen as soon as tomorrow, or it could happen in the next few months. Ninety days at the most," said Mr. Aviv. (The Family Security Foundation, Inc., July 30, 2007).

"What they're going to do," he explained, "is hit six, seven or eight cities simultaneously to show sophistication and really hit the public. This time, which is the message of the day, it will not only be big cities. They're going to try to hit rural America. They want to send a message to rural America: "You're not protected. If you figure out that if you just move out of New York and move to Montana or to Pittsburgh, you're not immune. We're going (to) get you wherever we can and it's easier there than in New York."

This fits the latest al Qaeda threat of a "big surprise" coming America's way.

Aviv knows of that which he speaks. He is a former Israeli Counterterrorism Intelligence Officer and has also served as a special consultant to the U.S. Congress on issues of terrorism and security. He is best known as the source of the 1985 book, Vengeance: The True Story of an Israeli Counter-Terrorist Team by Toronto-based George Jonas, on which Steven Spielberg's film Munich was based. He is also the author of The Complete Terrorism Survival Guide. How to Travel, Work and Live in Safety (2003); and Staying Safe: The Complete Guide to Protecting Yourself, Your Family and Your Business (2004).

The New York-based Aviv is corroborated by Day of Islam author Paul V. Williams who maintains that al Qaeda is not content on blowing up one nuclear device or even simply a "dirty" nuke--but wants to explode real nuclear devices in seven U.S. cities simultaneously."

In a recent interview with www.NewsMax.com, FBI director Robert Mueller, confirmed Williams' main claim. Mueller said al Qaeda's paramount goal is clear: to detonate a nuclear device that would kill hundreds of thousands of Americans.

Mueller told NewsMax that at times, the threat feels so real he lies awake at night thinking about the prospect.

Then there's the timeline predicted by Sean Osborne, widely published intelligence expert, journalist and associate director of military affairs at the Northeast Intelligence Network (NEIN).

"I happen to assess at the moment that the time frame for a potential series of significant state-sponsored terrorist attacks within CONUS is closer to 45 days than 90. That's my `gut feeling' and I don't have a $33 billion budget to back it up as DIRDHS Chertoff does," says Osborne. "If you read my last article (Mahmud Ahadi-Nejad's Council of War) on the NEIN website, you learned that Israeli Intelligence (Aman) knew that something along the lines of an unprecedented massive terror attack was expected 6 weeks prior to 9/11. Now they're saying the same thing again. Six weeks is approximately 45 days."

After reading Day of Islam Californian Terri Sami went online to see how many square miles the attack on Hiroshima affected immediately after being dropped and then realized that the anniversary of Hiroshima is August 6.

"In the same article I read that it was a Monday morning when the bomb hit. That really alarmed me, as I've read articles on the Director of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff saying he has a "gut feeling" about attacks this summer.

"Are there any alarm bells out there about the coincidence of the August 6th date approaching and the fact that al Qaeda is calling their ultimate attack the American Hiroshima?"

"Is this just my understandable paranoia? It seems that there must be some speculation as to this date being a possible target date!"

While the prospect of another massive terrorist attack leaves most Americans anxious, Juval Aviv recommends that they at least do what they can. He suggests for the next few months when traveling by public transportation, to travel equipped with a bottle of water, a hand towel and a flashlight.

"He reminds us that many fatalities in the London tube and Madrid train attacks occurred from victims who breathed in the lethal fumes from bomb components and burning gasoline. Had these people had wet towels to cover their mouths and noses, they would have had a much better chance of survival." ( www.FamilySecurityMatters.org).

"Mr. Aviv is a very strong proponent of "if you See Something--Say Something" school of preparedness. He stated that a great number of potentially lethal terror attacks in Israel have been--and still are--thwarted by the intelligent actions on the part of alert, aware and watchful citizens.

"Americans must do the same, he advises. The global war on terror is not "somewhere over there in the Middle East." It is here on our own soil. If ever there were a time to be especially vigilant, the time is now."

Meanwhile, you don't have to wait for government-issued red alerts to be on your toes.

As the experts warn: Stay alert…stay away from crowds…and if you see something, say something! You could be the person who saves hundreds, if not thousands of lives--including your own.
