Winnipeg Human Rights Museum

A Monument to Self- Righteousness and the Hate of Canada's British Canadians and their Descendents

By Dick Field

Tuesday, May 1, 2007

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has just announced that Canada will spend untold millions of our money to help fund a Human Rights museum to be built in Winnipeg. We taxpayers are also to foot the bill for its ongoing operating costs, estimated at some $22 more millions per annum - ever after. Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg have agreed to pitch in $20 million each for its construction. The promoters push the idea that this is going to be a great draw for tourism and a learning center for children, so much so that it is said the federal government will fly some 20,000 children from across Canada, annually, again on our tax dollars. You will surely want to book your flights now!

If anyone thinks this is about the promotion of the fundamental freedoms of our great country and the fantastic history of our part in the settlement of North America, disabuse yourself. The deceased Manitoba multi-millionaire, Mr. Izzy Asper, apparently wanted to make sure everyone growing up in Canada or coming to Canada from other countries fully understands that Canada was a den of British-Canadian (the majority) inequity and hatred towards victimized minorities until Mr. Trudeau and his glorious Charter of Rights and Freedoms came along in 1982.

Historical revisionism is the rewriting of history in a manner that suits the former enemies of the majority society. Canada, because of its open, massive immigration and refugee policies is replete with former enemies and never a day passes but we, of the now "outcast majority," have to suffer insult upon insult from these thankless newcomers as well as our own home grown, ill-informed and specially protected Charter minorities.

For example, look at the horrible and vile recasting of our heroic former Royal Canadian Air Force and Royal Air Force bomber crews as terror bombers and war criminals by the directors of our brand new Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. It was done so, cowardly and sneeringly, by means of a plaque in the museum pretending to "point out" that there is a major controversy over the bombing of civilian targets in Germany during the war. They will claim that they are just presenting a balanced and justified questioning of the effectiveness and morality of the air war.

Absolute liars! These revisionist museum directors have an axe to grind. If you look into the situation carefully, this writer's bet is that one or more of these people were not even born or were children at the time and are either brain-washed anti-war pacifist types, or people whose families suffered by the attacks. More likely, they are anti-British and anti-English Francophones from Quebec, whose citizens dragged their feet during a war that determined whether or not civilization itself would survive or die.

The truth is that World War II was a desperate fight for survival and every means, including the Atomic Bomb had to be used to bring it to an end as soon as possible. Remember, every day the war went on, thousands of allied prisoners were dying in brutal Japanese and German prison camps. The Auschwitz and other Nazi murder factories, gas chambers and crematoriums were running full blast. Some 35,000 people, mostly Jews, were being killed every damn day and the death trains ran day and night to the murder factories right up until the last day of the war. Slave workers and others were dying of starvation and the brutality of the bestial Nazis and Japanese. Every day that prolonged the war caused thousands of allied and enemy soldiers, sailors and airmen to be killed in action. A total butchery the like of which the world had never seen It was a war of survival and any pain inflicted on the enemy, helped hasten its bloody end.

The revisionist fools, who today, laze by their pools, stuff themselves with food from all over the world, listen and watch news in the comfort of their armchairs and pretend to take morale stances about World War II, need a wake up call. And that wake up call, to this writer's mode of thought, would be their seeing their families torn apart by the bombs and blasts of a terrorist attack here in Canada, just as the Nazi Luftwaffe, inflicted on the "open city" of Rotterdam in 1940, against all the rules of warfare. A whole quarter of that unarmed city was destroyed by bombs and over 40,000 civilians were killed.

Canadians who care about our future should refuse to pay one red cent for this proposed Winnipeg Human Rights museum because it plans to carry out exactly the same theme as is so frequently projected against the majority by thankless minorities who have been fortunate enough to find safe haven in Canada. It is the same revisionist disease so poignantly illustrated by the recent fiasco at the new Canadian Military Museum in Ottawa.

The forced apologies of our "me culpa" politicians to so many of our "victim" groups (with cash settlements) is sickening If you want to see what Mr. Asper and crew intend to tell our future generations about our heroic Canadians of the past, especially our British-Canadian majority, please look up their website at Canadian Museum For Human Rights and promise yourself not to be sick. Just be angry, and let your politicians know you want an end to this libelous fraud!

Some time ago an article appeared in a local paper describing the activities of an elderly Jewish gentleman. This well intentioned man thought it was his sworn duty to go around from school to school telling the kids how racist our society was before and just after WW2. In doing so, he believed that he was teaching children to not be racist or anti-Semitic. What he was really doing was spreading hatred against the non-Jewish population of the majority. He was guilty of stereotyping the majority of citizens for the attitudes of the few. To be sure, he had no idea that he was planting evil thoughts in the minds of children about the majority of the society in which they lived. Even at the worst of times in Canada no Jews were killed in Canada because they were Jews. Prejudice certainly existed, but it was exclusionary, not violent. Jews were a tiny minority and were not well known or understood by the majority.

The proposed Museum of Human Rights in Winnipeg is to be based on the same concept as the old Jewish gentleman. It will be a museum dedicated to the picking of old sores and the denigrating the majority for their failures. It will replay ad nauseam the attribution of racism and vile behaviour, particularly directed at English speaking Canadians of the time, and their descendents.

This is not designed to be a museum dedicated to memory of all Canadians and a celebration of their courage and steadfast fight for freedom, to the benefit of all societies in the western world, including Canada. No, it is to be another tear jerker of how the backward, racist and vile the majority (who happened to be British Canadians at that time) has behaved badly throughout Canada's history. It is even to planned to display the British removal of the French Acadians from Nova Scotia during the French-British Seven-Year War in all its sad and unpleasant, but distorted, revisionist history. So what is this glorious Winnipeg Museum of Hatred and corrupt history all about? Well here is their website's own opening statement:

"Canada's greatest legacy will be the ability of our country to uphold and strengthen human rights into the future. To be able to do this effectively, we must learn from the tragedies of the past. A precious legacy is fading from existence. With each day that passes, the cause becomes more urgent. The timing of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights is critical. Many survivors of Canadian human rights abuses, including First Nations, Ukrainians, Japanese, Italians, suffragettes and others are now advanced in years. We must record the lessons in history – the testimonials from survivors and the stories of our human rights heroes before they are lost forever."

Canada has a proud past. The Japanese Canadians and Japanese nationals' removal from the coast of British Columbia during World War II was necessary, if badly and meanly done. The Ukrainians were not all interned but mistakes are always made in turbulent times, precautions have to be taken. Only a very few known Italian Fascist activists were interned during the war and the lies perpetrated today by our former enemies, that anti-Italian riots took place all over Canada are pure drivel. As to the French Acadians, the other side of the story is quite different from the tale of innocence now being told. This writer intends to write more about all this at a later date. It is about time someone set the record straight and this Winnipeg monstrosity of a so-called Museum of "Human Rights" is sure not going to set any records for truth.

It is about time we Canadians of British heritage, and all Canadians for that matter, set the record straight. Human rights were derived from our English Common Law and Parliamentary heritage. They were not drawn from the Ozone layer. Unfortunately, they have been corrupted with gratuitous entitlements and by self indulgent lazy ideologues. In Canada, our much admired "tolerance, kindness and compassion" has been forced and dragooned by Human Rights kangaroo courts and the politically correct jackals that force niceness upon our every word and action, except for those minorities who are permitted to self indulge in their pernicious habit of insulting the majority.

It is probably too late to stop the travesty of the Winnipeg Hate Museum but maybe we can persuade our tax squandering leaders to see that the tone of the museum changes, if enough readers feel it must.
